I Don't Care About This World Anymore is the third episode of the Children of the Whales anime.
Summary[]
Armed soldiers from an airship invade the Mud Whale. With the help of their Thymia, the invaders use their weapons to kill any of the residents they come in contact with. Sensing that something strange is amidst the upper parts of the Mud Whale, Ouni demands to his guard that he be released from his confinement. Chakuro awakens after being shot at from the invading soldiers and sees that Sami died trying to protect him. Immediately a soldier with a long-chained flail approaches the two so Chakuro escapes with Sami's corpse in his arms. A disconcerted Suou witnesses the onslaught and recalls that Chakuro and Sami are still at the plantation field. Starting to regaining some of her emotions, Lykos uses her Thymia to retaliate against the invaders. Ouni and his prison guard, reach the surface of the Mud Whale and witness the invasion that is occurring.
Meanwhile, an unnamed man reads documented orders of what the soldiers' goal that they have to accomplish on the Mud Whale. As Lykos runs off to fight against the invaders, she's pursued by Suou, who runs into a group of kids. In the group is Shinono who informs Suou of Taisha's death. Perturbed by this outcome, Suou has Shinono gather everyone to the concourse and that he'll try and negotiate with the attackers. Elsewhere, Ouni uses his Thymia a bunch of soldiers that attack and killed a couple of his Moles. With all of the remaining residents congregated in the concourse, Ginshu accompanied two others from the vigilante corps introduces herself. She suggests they counterattack, but Suou retorts that violence would breed more violence and wishes to negotiate with the invaders. He firmly believes that Taisha would want to do this. However, this belief comes into question as Suou witnesses Ouni fight and kill several of the invaders.
As Chakuro embraces the corpse of Sami and is slowly surrounded by the enemy, a group of children arrives looking for their brother Tobi. One of the soldiers then tries to kill the children, but is stopped by Chakuro. The soldier then whacks him out of the way and so then Chakuro uses his Thymia to defend himself against the soldier. Amid it, Lykos uses her Tymia to disarm the surrounding soldiers around Chakuro. She is then approached by the leader of the invading soldiers accompanied by two soldiers. The leader requests that she return with him to Skylos, but she refuses. Lykos then goes to Chakuro's aide while the leader orders his men to notify Arachni of the situation. Immediately a young man named Liontari rushes towards Skylos and embraces her. After Liontari babbles on about the joy being able to massacre innocent lives, he touches Sami's corpse which triggers Chakuro. So, Liontari restrains Chakuro and seeing him cry, wishes to see him cry more and then just kill him. Lykos unarms Liontari with her Thymia. While Liontari confronts Lykos and jokingly asks if her retaliation allows him to kill her. A horn signal is blown causing the soldiers to retreat.
A message from Commander Orca, Lykos' older brother, is that she is to be remained stationed at the Mud Whale and now be called "Sample 4". Before leaving, Liontari promises he'll be back one day. That night, Liontari visits Orca in his room and asks his reason for using his sister as an experimental sample on the Mud Whale. Orca concisely answers that he's merely fulfilling his own "missions". Back on the Mud Whale, the wounded are tended too and Ouni warns in a week's time, the invaders shall return. The following day, a mass funeral is held for those of whom died in the massacre the day prior.
